We’re excited to offer the 2022 Michel Niellon Chassagne-Montrachet, a superb white Burgundy from one of the most esteemed domaines in the Côte de Beaune. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this cuvée reflects both the pedigree of its appellation and the time-honored craftsmanship of a family estate now entering its third generation of winemaking excellence. Domaine Michel Niellon has been a cornerstone of Chassagne-Montrachet since the 1950s, when Michel Niellon began bottling wines under his own name after decades of family viticulture. His reputation for crafting impeccably pure, age-worthy white Burgundies quickly grew, placing the domaine alongside the region’s most respected producers. Today, Michel's son-in-law Michel Coutoux and grandson Mathieu carry forward the estate’s legacy, farming roughly 7 hectares of prime vineyard holdings with the same meticulous attention to detail. Traditional vinification techniques—barrel fermentation, restrained use of new oak, and long élevage—allow the terroir to speak clearly in every vintage. The 2022 vintage is already being hailed as a return to classicism after several warmer years, offering beautifully ripe fruit balanced by lifted acidity and remarkable mineral definition. Niellon’s village Chassagne-Montrachet is sourced from multiple small lieux-dits near the heart of the appellation, combining to create a wine of depth, texture, and aromatic complexity.
