Maison Camille Giroud
Founded in Beaune in 1865, Maison Camille Giroud is one of Burgundy's great historic négociants, renowned for producing wines of exceptional longevity from many of the Côte d'Or's most prestigious vineyards. For much of its history, the house specialized in purchasing outstanding young wines and aging them patiently in its own cellars before release, earning a reputation for traditionally styled, structured Burgundies that reward decades of cellaring. Today, Camille Giroud combines that respect for tradition with greater precision in the vineyard and cellar, producing wines that faithfully express the character of each individual terroir while maintaining the elegance and age-worthiness that have defined the house for over 160 years.
1990 Camile Giroud Echezeaux Grand Cru
"A magnificent expression of mature Grand Cru Burgundy, the 1990 Camille Giroud Échézeaux opens with an intoxicating bouquet of black cherry, wild strawberry, dried rose petals, forest floor, truffle, cedar and warm baking spice, layered with hints of leather and exotic tea. Rich and beautifully resolved on the palate, it combines the generosity of the outstanding 1990 vintage with remarkable finesse, its silky tannins framing vibrant red fruit, earthy complexity and a finely etched mineral core. Wonderfully harmonious and lingering, this is a classic mature Burgundy of depth, elegance and aristocratic poise that continues to reward patient cellaring while drinking beautifully today."
