2022 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc
2022 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc is more than just a bottle of white Burgundy — it’s a golden invitation to sip on history, elegance, and a little French magic. The Drouhin family has been making wine since 1880, but it was in the 1920s that Joseph Drouhin’s son, Maurice, had the brilliant foresight to purchase a rocky, sun-drenched vineyard on the Beaune hillside — a place the medieval monks once called Clos des Mouches (named not for insects, but for the old Burgundian word for bees, who loved the flowering vines). Fast forward to 2022: the buzz is still real. This vintage of Clos des Mouches Blanc is a dazzling Chardonnay, precise and poised, with floral notes, citrus zest, a whisper of honeysuckle, and a kiss of oak that’s more French charm than muscle. It balances richness with mineral tension in a way that Burgundy lovers dream about and New World winemakers try to copy on weekends. Whether you're toasting Tuesday night triumphs or cellaring it for a future celebration, this bottle is pure Burgundian class and proof that good things happen when you follow the bees.

2022 Emmanuel Rouget Vosne Romanee
Domaine Emmanuel Rouget was formed in 1985. Since then, it has attained almost mythical status among collectors worldwide. The history of the domaine will be forever tied to the iconic vigneron Henri Jayer, Emmanuel’s uncle. By the early 1980s, Henri had already become one of the most legendary winemakers in Burgundy, influencing a generation of young vignerons in Burgundy and around the world. In 1985 he took on his nephew Emmanuel Rouget as his protégé and began leasing some of his vines to him. Over the years, Jayer gave up more and more vines to his nephew. In 2001, following his retirement, all of his vines went under the control of Rouget, including the Georges Jayer vines. Since 2011 the control of the domaine has passed to Emmanuel’s two sons Nicolas who manages the vineyards and Guillaume the winery. The 2022 vintage, a year marked by ripe fruit and excellent balance, enhances the vineyard’s natural generosity - delivering a wine of depth, perfume, and glowing structure. This isn’t just a Grand Cru - it’s a Grand Cru from one of Burgundy’s most revered domaines, and a beautiful snapshot of both a warming vintage and a winemaker who always seeks purity and elegance above all.
