2022 Royal Prince Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Royal Prince Wines was founded in 2016 by vintner David Green with only one aim, to make delicious wines for the many, not cult wines for the elite. To help him accomplish his goal, in a master stroke in late 2019, David brought major-league winemaker Maayan Koshcitzky (Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle) on as a partner. Maayan is Director of Winemaking for Atelier Melka, where he has worked for eight years under the tutelage of the great Philippe Melka (Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Dominus Estate, Ch. Haut-Brion, Ch. Petrus.) Royal Prince wines consistently transcend the expectations of their price points, and use their advantage of unique access to a rarefied tier of wine-growing partners. They make wine honestly, employing a minimalist approach to growing, blending, and bottling. The 95 Point Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is where it is at, sourced from the iconic coastal Santa Rita Hills, this pinot’s depth belies its initial appearance: Roses, raspberries, and root beer with a unique savory quality on the palate. Plush, smooth and balanced by vibrant acidity, this is a ridiculously good wine for the money. As it gains accolades and climbs in stature, remember you saw it on offer here first.

2022 Sine Qua Non "Distenta IV" Syrah

Founded in 1994 by Manfred and Elaine Krankl in Ventura, on California's Central Coast, the winery is the epitome of an artisanal, cult winery. The mailing list is easily one of the most difficult to crack, with waiting periods of 8-10 years not unusual. The uber-talented husband-and-wife team make some of the most unique and hard to get wines in the world and routinely produce multiple 100-point wines vintage after vintage. The Krankl's meticulous craftsmanship and phenomenal attention to detail has prompted Robert M. Parker Jr. to call Sine Qua Non "One of the world's most creative wineries" and one that "is turning out world-class wines of extraordinary complexity and individuality." Without breaking character, the spellbinding 98 Point 2022 Distenta IV steps onto the stage and delivers a masterclass in modern Syrah, allowing us a glimpse of how far into the future this extraordinary winemaker is taking this ancient varietal. Antonio Galloni remarks - "The sheer drive for perfection and attention to detail at Sine Qua Non is something I have rarely witnessed anywhere else in the world." We get it, these wines are so bewilderingly profound, once you experience them there's no going back. Sine Qua Non should be represented in every wine collection of note.

2022 Aaron Pott Dynamite with a Laser Beam Pinot Noir

One of the truly great unsung producers out of Napa, Aaron Pott has built an illustrious winemaking resume. He took his studies from U C Davis, across the pond to Bordeaux, becoming winemaker (after his friend Michel Rolland's recommendation) at famed Right Bank house Château Troplong Mondot. Aaron then was honored to become winemaker at famed property Quintessa in 2004, which was the same year that he purchased a 76-acre property on Mt. Veeder and began to develop his own vineyards. 2007 marked the birth of Pott Wines and the rest is history, as critics across the globe have lauded his beautiful wines. Pinot Noir is considered the litmus test of a winemakers' viticultural chops; if you can grow Pinot, you can grow anything. It’s the fussiest, most particular varietal but when it’s happy, it’s dynamite. Blow your guest's minds this holiday season with one of the best domestic Pinot's on the market. Trust us on this one...it's got it all.
