2016 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin Marguerite
The 2016 Cuvée Marguerite is one of the most compelling white Burgundies from Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey ("PYCM"), produced during the frost-ravaged 2016 vintage when many of his Saint-Aubin Premier Cru parcels suffered severe losses. Rather than bottling several individual vineyards separately, Colin-Morey blended fruit from En Créot, Les Combes, and Perrières, creating a special cuvée named in honor of his grandmother, Marguerite. The 2016 growing season was marked by devastating spring frosts throughout the Côte de Beaune. Pierre-Yves lost significant portions of his Saint-Aubin crop, leading to the creation of this tiny-production bottling. Despite the challenges, the resulting wine is remarkably concentrated, structured, and mineral-driven.
