The 2018 Domaine de la Vougeraie Savigny-Lès-Beaune Blanc is a refined white Burgundy crafted from 100% Chardonnay grown in the village of Savigny-lès-Beaune in the Côte de Beaune, where white wines are known for texture, freshness, and complexity. The estate itself was founded in 1999 when Jean-Charles Boisset consolidated the family’s best vineyard parcels—acquired gradually since 1964—into a single domaine, creating one of Burgundy’s notable modern estates. Farming is central to its identity: vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, with indigenous yeasts used for fermentation and aging typically lasting 12–18 months in barrel to express terroir with purity and finesse. This cuvée comes from two south-facing parcels, Les Gollardes and Les Vermots, planted between the late 1980s and late 1990s on marl- and limestone-rich soils that help produce balanced wines showing fruit, floral notes, and mineral structure. The result is a classic village-level Burgundy Blanc: elegant, terroir-driven, and reflective of both the domaine’s meticulous philosophy and Savigny-lès-Beaune’s historic vineyard heritage, once held by Burgundian nobility and religious orders.
