2023 Lucien Le Moine Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrieres

One of the most intriguing names in modern Burgundy, Lucien Le Moine has become a favorite among serious collectors for its rare, terroir-driven approach. Founded in 1999 by Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakin, the house operates as a highly selective micro-négociant, sourcing exceptional grapes and barrels from some of Burgundy’s most respected vineyards. Rather than chasing a house style, Lucien Le Moine’s philosophy is to let each vineyard express its own identity through traditional élevage, extended aging on the lees, and minimal intervention. The 2023 Meursault 1er Cru “Les Perrières” represents one of the crown jewels of Meursault. “Les Perrières” is widely considered one of the greatest Premier Cru vineyards in the village and is often mentioned as a site with Grand Cru potential because of its incredible combination of limestone soils, minerality, and aging ability. The name “Perrières” comes from the old stone quarries found in the area, which helped create the vineyard’s signature stony, precise character.
