Few producers in Burgundy have developed the reputation and following of Lucien Le Moine. Founded in 1999 by Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakin, this unique Burgundy house takes a highly selective approach — instead of owning vineyards, they work with exceptional growers and choose only the finest barrels from prestigious appellations. Their philosophy is centered around revealing the personality of each vineyard, using traditional methods, long aging on the lees, and minimal intervention to create wines with incredible texture, depth, and individuality. The 2023 Meursault 1er Cru “Blagny” Blanc comes from one of the most intriguing corners of the Côte de Beaune. Blagny sits high above the classic Meursault vineyards, near the border with Puligny-Montrachet, where the elevation and limestone soils create wines that combine Meursault’s richness with a more refined, mineral-driven personality. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, this wine showcases everything Burgundy lovers chase: aromas of ripe pear, white peach, citrus blossom, toasted hazelnut, brioche, and subtle vanilla wrapped around a core of chalky minerality. The palate is elegant yet powerful, delivering the classic Meursault combination of creamy texture, bright acidity, and a long, lingering finish.
