One of the most exciting names in modern Burgundy, Lucien Le Moine has built a cult-like following by doing things a little differently. Founded in 1999 by Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakin, the domaine does not own vineyards but instead selects exceptional barrels from some of Burgundy’s greatest growers. Their goal is to capture the personality of each vineyard through extremely careful élevage, allowing the terroir to tell the story rather than overpowering it with winemaking. The 2023 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “Sur Gamay” Blanc is a beautiful example of why Burgundy collectors chase these wines. Located in the Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin sits in the shadow of legendary neighbors like Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, offering incredible Premier Cru quality with a little more mystery and exclusivity. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this wine delivers the classic white Burgundy combination of elegance and power — showing notes of ripe lemon, white peach, pear, toasted almond, subtle brioche, and a striking limestone-driven minerality.
