The NV Brut Souverain from Champagne Henriot is the historic flagship cuvée of one of Champagne’s most quietly prestigious family-owned houses, offering a refined and complex expression of non-vintage blending at a high level. Founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, the house was built on a forward-thinking philosophy: that a single vintage could never fully capture the personality of Champagne’s terroir. This led to the early adoption of reserve wines—an approach that remains central to the style of Brut Souverain today. Now guided by Cellar Master Alice Tétienne, Henriot continues to emphasize precision, balance, and transparency of site, sourcing fruit from a wide range of premier and grand cru vineyards across the region. Crafted from a classic Champagne blend—roughly 45–50% Pinot Noir, 40–45% Chardonnay, and a small portion of Pinot Meunier—Brut Souverain is a multi-vintage, multi-cru wine that incorporates a significant percentage of reserve wines to ensure both complexity and consistency. Aged for a minimum of three years on lees, the wine develops fine bubbles and layered aromatics that elevate it beyond a typical non-vintage Brut.
