Made exclusively from 100% Sangiovese Grosso, the wine reflects the pedigree of the Montosoli cru—one of the most esteemed zones in northern Montalcino, known for producing Brunello with exceptional balance, energy, and longevity. The Sassetti family has been rooted in Montalcino for over a century, with Livio Sassetti formalizing the Pertimali estate in the 1960s. Since then, the family has become synonymous with classically styled Brunello: wines that honor tradition while expressing a distinct sense of place. Under the stewardship of Livio’s sons, the estate has remained family-run, focusing on low yields, organic farming, and minimal intervention to allow the vineyard's voice to shine through. The 2019 vintage is a textbook example of this philosophy. It opens with aromas of crushed cherry, dried rose petal, sweet herbs, and warm Tuscan earth. On the palate, it is structured yet graceful, offering fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and a persistent mineral core that speaks to its Montosoli origins. Already compelling, it promises to evolve beautifully over the next two decades.
