The 2022 Kathryn Hermann Chardonnay from Double Zero Wines is one of the estate’s most personal and limited expressions, crafted as a tribute cuvée that reflects both precision winemaking and an intimate connection to place. Founded by Chris Hermann, Double Zero has rapidly become one of Oregon’s most sought-after producers, known for its uncompromising approach to quality and its focus on small-lot, site-driven wines from the Willamette Valley. The Kathryn Hermann bottling represents the pinnacle of that philosophy—sourced from meticulously farmed vineyards and produced in extremely limited quantities, often reserved for mailing list clients and top collectors. As with all Double Zero wines, the winemaking emphasizes native fermentations, extended lees aging, and a restrained, thoughtful use of oak to highlight texture and minerality over overt richness. The 2022 vintage in Oregon provided excellent balance, allowing Chardonnay to achieve both ripeness and vibrant natural acidity.
