2022 Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc “Les Sétilles” is a signature Chardonnay from the Burgundy négociant house founded in 1984 by Olivier and Patrick Leflaive, known for vinifying wines from purchased grapes and estate plots with domaine-level methods. The cuvée’s name comes from the cadastral site where the cellar is located, and fruit is sourced from about sixty climats primarily in Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, with some parcels from surrounding Burgundy zones. Produced from 100% Chardonnay grown in calcareous and silty clay soils and aged mostly in oak (with a small portion in stainless steel), the wine balances freshness and texture. Aromatically it shows white flowers, peach, citrus, honeyed fruit, and toasted almond notes, while the palate is lively and mineral with chalky nuances and crisp apple-lemon tones. Critics commonly score it in the low-90s and praise its balance and accessibility, making it a classic example of well-crafted regional White Burgundy.
