We are pleased to present the 2021 Rotem & Mounir Saouma Châteauneuf-du-Pape Arioso Blanc, a distinguished white wine from one of the Rhône Valley's most innovative producers. Mounir Saouma, renowned for his work with Lucien Le Moine in Burgundy, ventured into Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 2006, acquiring a small, neglected plot in Pignan. This acquisition marked the beginning of a meticulous journey focused on low-yield, organic viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking. Today, Saouma oversees 21 acres across eight vineyards in all five villages of the appellation, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of each site. The 2021 Arioso Blanc is crafted exclusively from Grenache Blanc, sourced from the sandy soils of the Pignan lieu-dit. The wine undergoes a gentle pressing with small, traditional presses, followed by an extended maceration period and aging in a combination of barrels, foudres, and cement vessels. This method preserves the wine's purity and expression, resulting in a complex and age-worthy white wine.
