2022 Rotem & Mounir Saouma Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc "Magis"

'Magis' is a wine which transcends traditional, critic-led point-scores and wordy reviews. It's one of those wines you just don't get until you try it....then the light bulb comes on. Graileys' members have tried it, get it and love it. Mounir Saouma, the extraordinary genius behind the acclaimed Lucien Le Moine Burgundy label, has managed to conjure up another remarkable vintage of his game-changing CDP Blanc. He has found a way of raising the already stratospherically high bar he has set for himself with the exquisite 2021. Its consistent adherence to excellence has prompted us to vote Magis 'Graileys White Wine of the Year' for the last four years running, and in our opinion, this latest rendition is easily his best yet. This wine is so completely unique it will permanently alter the way you think about CDP Blanc and its varietals. Almost inconceivably, 'Magis' mirrors a high-end Meursault or a young Montrachet, rather than a traditional white Rhone. Jeb Dunnuck agrees, commenting - "It will give a Grand Cru Burgundy a run for its money." Only a miniscule amount imported into the US.

1993 Dom Perignon

The 1993 Dom Pérignon is a rare and refined vintage Champagne, showcasing the house’s dedication to crafting wines that transcend time—even in more challenging years. The 1993 growing season was cool and marked by a late harvest, resulting in a Champagne with subtlety, freshness, and grace. In the glass, it reveals delicate aromas of citrus zest, green apple, and white flowers, underscored by hints of toasted brioche, almond, and a touch of smoky minerality. The palate is elegant and linear, with fine bubbles, a crisp acid spine, and a chalky texture that carries into a quietly persistent finish. Dom Pérignon, the crown jewel of Moët & Chandon, is only made in vintages deemed exceptional, and even in quieter years like 1993, the house’s uncompromising standards shine through. Named after the Benedictine monk who helped pioneer Champagne’s early methods, Dom Pérignon represents the union of tradition and innovation. The 1993 vintage is a testament to that philosophy—an elegant, contemplative Champagne that rewards patience and a thoughtful palate.

2022 Royal Prince Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Royal Prince Wines was founded in 2016 by vintner David Green with only one aim, to make delicious wines for the many, not cult wines for the elite. To help him accomplish his goal, in a master stroke in late 2019, David brought major-league winemaker Maayan Koshcitzky (Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle) on as a partner. Haut-Brion, Ch. Petrus.) Royal Prince wines consistently transcend the expectations of their price points, and use their advantage of unique access to a rarefied tier of wine-growing partners. They make wine honestly, employing a minimalist approach to growing, blending, and bottling. The 95 Point Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is where it is at, sourced from the iconic coastal Santa Rita Hills, this pinot’s depth belies its initial appearance: Roses, raspberries, and root beer with a unique savory quality on the palate.
